I am wondering if you are the same band I saw performing at FreeSpirit Pagan Gathering nigh on 11 or so years ago. Specifically, I had a tape, called Avalon Is Rising, as far as I remember, that had a song by that title, and one called Circles that I would probably give a body part to get ahold of.

Are you they, or do you know where I could find a copy? The name is so close to the song, and it is the same type of music....

It is a soul thing. Please help if you can.

Blessed Be
Starhawk

I love celtic music and Tolkien. I wrote a few songs of Tolkien too,in Beyondbree@yahoo.com. The editor there, nancy Martsch, loves this type of music.

Looking on internet for pagan bands - discovered yours - an it is excellent. I am an old rock 'n roller in the magical Catskills hoping to find pagan musicians to play with. Your music and harmonies are great !!!

My name is Cat, and I was actually named after Cat Taylor. She was good friends with my mom and dad when we lived in California. I worked Ren fair with her many a year. I think that her and her band are amazing! I still am looking for the original album by Phoenyx but can't seem to find it, lol. I love the music, and hope they keep playing.

Hi-

I just heard your group a couple of weeks ago at the Vacaville Medieval Fantasy Festival. I was SOOOO impressed with your music, that I purchased two CDs there. I have been playing them at the office (only allowed to if we use headphones) this week and what a difference for me. I usually come home "crawling inside" and heading for bed from exhaustion. But not this week...YES!!! THANK YOU so much for such positive music.
I also just purchased a four more CDs and I a look forward to your newest creation, once it is released. BTW- I have been telling everyone I know about your band. So if you are getting orders from outside of CA...that's why.

I have to say, I was a bit skeptical of your music at first. Then a friend of mine had me listen to Dark Moon Circle. After that I was hooked.

Thank you guys and gals greatly for the work you do in the music world, and may it continue.

Liliana - Sun, Apr 1st, 2007 7:32 PM PDT
Your music is wonderfull! I would love to see you once live at Argentina.

Saw you tonight at the Rose. You guys are great. I have a suggestion: In the middle of the "Hexhamshire Lass", do Katy Cruel, totally a capella.

(If you don't know Katy Cruel it's probably the best song ever to come from New England, and the tune is very close to your version of "Hexamshire".)

'insert witty comment here.'

Have loved everything you have ever done... Never have I been either so moved or inspired by live music of your kind before. And I know the difference between live and recorded music.
(Having been privileged to so much of your music live due to Rennaisance Faire after hour parties and local club gigs... and I have been subjected to some incredibly crap live bands when forced to re-create their live work on stage) As musicians, you know what I mean...
I applaud wholeheartedly your educated musical voice in this genre so fraught with silly, overmodern, and unconnected shit these days, and as purists of both original music, and as some of the most honest interpretationalists of both what was, as is what is to come of our historical heritage of Celtic music, I feel confident in looking forward to even more delicious interpretations, not of the more regular simplistic crap, but of an experience-evoked interpretation of a timeline of human evolvement from then to this, from the collective musical intelligence of this band overall. I hear the ancient rhythms in each band member's contribution, whether ancient in form or, if more modern, appreciative of the care taken in it's excecution.
I have heard countless different bands claiming to sound like yours across the world, but yours is truly World Class, and don't you EVER think different, or ever think less of yourselves, because you come from America, and not from Europe, because I've heard some incredible crap come from European sources, who for no reason hold their noses just a bit higher, but if put to the test against you, would feel ( According to the film The Princess Bride, would feel ("HUMILIATIONS GALORE").

Period.

A most loyal fan,

Janet Davis

Janet Davis - Thu, May 25th, 2006 3:35 AM PDT
Best band in its' genre....period!!

Love and cheers,

Janet Davis

Hello Stoph and Margaret, it's been a long time. :) I just wanted to say that I grabbed "Perilous Garde" off of iTunes and according to my little handy dandy counter, it's been approximately 76 times that I've listened to it in the last month. Very lovely. I remember it from the Magic Fire casette (I think?), and it's one of my favorites. Thank you for recording it again and making it so easy to get!
